Tasso is a typeface revival, drawn for the Type@Cooper program in 2013: based on “Tasso No. 2” by Barnhardt Brothers & Spindler circa 1896.
I was drawn to this face (get it?) because of its funky “Q” and quirky kicks & curls, but also loved how it feels so totally Art Nouveau-y, yet can definitely work in modern compositions as well. This revival is pretty true to the original specimen (shown in the last image), although I was missing a couple of letters and brought consistency across the weights of the forms.
Tasso is not yet released.
