Italy Meets New York
It was such a pleasure to work with Roey Mizrahi Events and Jessica Schmitt Photography recently on a styled shoot at the New York Historical Society’s Caffè Storico. And I am so excited to share some of Jessica’s photos with you!
The setting was ah-maz-ing. Not only is the New York Historical Society really beautiful, the restaurant inside is so.cool.
“Caffe Storico is a chic, edgy, semi formal restaurant located in the NY Historical Society on the Upper West Side. White walls adorned with white porcelain plates, gold chandeliers, marble tables, wooden chairs and bright canary yellow bar stools and bench cushion. It already sounds amazing right? That’s because it is. The interior of the restaurant is so unique, bold and yet naturally refined so it became more of a challenge trying to create something that had a quality design concept but that didn’t out shine the venue instead rather enhance it. It was for this reason that the color palette remained with what was present in the venue, white, gold, green and yellow.”
Using a white, black and yellow and gold color scheme I mixed modern and rustic by using a clean hand-drawn script and a classic serif, digitally printed onto Savoy cotton paper, then added a pop of yellow with the envelopes. I also created menus, table numbers, escort tags and favor tags. The Save the Date crossword puzzle was especially fun to make!
